2022 Zurich Classic leaderboard: Live updates, full coverage, golf scores in Round 4 on Sunday

Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele find themselves in an enviable position after 54 holes of the 2022 Zurich Classic, a four-round team event. The Ryder Cup duo leads by five, and they are the best alternate-shot team in the field (this is the format that will be used in Sunday’s final round). It’s no surprise, then, that they’re the heavy favorite (-800, per Caesars Sportsbook) to take home what would be their first wins of the 2021-22 PGA Tour season.

None of that means things will fall their way, of course, only that they should. They still have to go out and actually hold off Garrick Higgo and Branden Grace, whom they lead by five; they lead the rest of the field by at least six. It would be one thing for teams to chase down an inexperienced duo in alternate-shot on Sunday, but an entirely other thing for them to do it with two guys who scored two points in that format at last year’s Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits.

“… [Alternate shot] will be more patient, solid, smart golf, and that’s something we’re both really good at, so we’re looking forward to the challenge,” said Cantlay on Saturday night.

I’m not sure anyone else is looking forward to the challenge of catching them.
